Sis Kach Medina Umandap wins Emerging Global Filipino Icon 2026 Title

Before becoming a digital nomad, I was an OFW working and living in 🇰🇼 Kuwait from 2009 to 2013. From 2013 to 2025, I traveled full-time – working remotely, collecting passport stamps, and chasing borders – until I accomplished my personal mission of visiting all 195 UN-recognized countries with my passport.

But I’ve always asked myself… where next?
Where does someone go when she has already seen a lof of things?
What do I want to do next?

In my final years of completion, I began setting up my life. I flew my things – and my dog 🐶 Malaya – from Montenegro back to Palawan, Philippines. She’s my anchor. My home base.
But I’m too young to retire into island life.
I’m still too nomadic. Still too ambitious.

So I knew the next best place for me would be Dubai.
The energy. The network. The strategic location.
I just didn’t know how I would get in.

Last year, I received my Golden Visa as a creator. ✨
And this year, I was surprised to be nominated by @filipino.world.travelers for the Global Filipino Icons Awards – and to win the title of Emerging Global Filipino Icon 2026 by the Dubai-based @theglobalfilipinomagazine.

I like that title. I am still emerging.
Because many people still don’t realize that a Philippine passport can take you to every country in the world. Step by step. I don’t know where next – but I trust that God will lead my way.
