In line with its commitment to community service and child welfare, the U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority conducted an outreach program at the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) on 12 June 2026. Operated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the RSCC provides temporary residential care, medical assessment, and psychosocial support to abandoned, neglected, and surrendered children. The outreach activity focused on children aged two to five years old and aimed to bring joy, nourishment, and encouragement to the young residents.
The initiative was made possible through the active participation of resident sisters Ashley, Cess, Pammy, Abby, Tricia, Eli, Hannah, and Sam, together with alumnae sisters Shealah and Noemie. United by the values of sisterhood and service, the participating sisters dedicated their time and effort to creating a meaningful and memorable experience for the children.
The program featured a variety of fun and interactive games that encouraged participation and fostered a lively and cheerful atmosphere. Adding to the excitement of the day, each child received a Jollibee meal, bringing smiles and delight to everyone present. Through these simple yet heartfelt activities, the sisters shared moments of happiness, care, and companionship with the children, reflecting the Sorority’s enduring commitment to serving the community.
In addition to the recreational activities, medicines and health supplies were donated through the support of The Generics Pharmacy. This contribution underscored the importance of promoting the health and well-being of the children under the center’s care and complemented the program’s holistic approach to service.
The success of the outreach program was further strengthened by the generosity and support of the U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority Alumnae Association, Inc. (UPSBSAAI) and alumna sister Bessie Barua Callejo. Their valuable contributions helped make the activity more impactful and beneficial to the children, exemplifying the collective spirit of service that continues to unite Sigma Betans across generations.
