U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority Launches Sigma Beta Scholarship

The U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority set a bold vision in motion during its Strategic Planning Session in Makati in July 2025. It was during this session that the idea of providing monthly stipends to resident sisters was thoughtfully proposed by Sis Tess Payongayong (UPD Σβ ’90-I) and Sis Weng Adriano (UPD Σβ ’89). In line with the Sorority’s enduring commitment to academic support and sisterhood, the initiative gained its fitting identity when Sis Nitz Arias (UPD Σβ ’90-M) coined the term SISkolar — a name that captures both scholarship and the spirit of U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority.

The program officially launched in the First Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, granting monthly stipends to seven resident sisters. As the semester concludes in December, the Sorority remains hopeful and committed to sustaining the program through the Second Semester beginning in January and in the years to follow.

The SISkolar ng Sigma Beta program flourished through the generosity of alumnae who believe in uplifting resident sisters and strengthening the Sorority’s academic mission.
