The U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority turned November 13 and 14 into a vibrant celebration of service and sisterhood with FREE UNLI-KOT Rides—a special initiative offering unlimited IKOT and TOKI rides to students and the wider U.P. community, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From sunrise, students were greeted by Sigma Beta alumnae and resident sisters who assisted passengers, guided queues, and brightened the campus with lavender-themed décor. IKOT and TOKI jeepneys were adorned with banners and decals, making each ride part of a festive, iconic experience.
The project aimed to ease the daily commute of Iskolars while strengthening community connections. For many, it provided practical relief and a refreshing reminder of the power of care and camaraderie on campus.
Adding excitement, a free Lululemon belt bag was raffled to one lucky winner, drawing eager participants and sparking social media buzz with snapshots of lavender jeeps and smiling commuters.
This initiative was made possible by our generous Ikot Project Donors—Sis Arline Polintan Trias, Sis Solita Lumicao Kennard, Sis Tess Lorono Dela Peña, Sis Minnie Figarola, Sis Tess Santiago Ochotorena, and Sis Imelda Lomibao Tolentino—whose support fueled both the jeeps and the spirit of service. Special thanks to Sis Vangie Aguirre for leading the project, Sis Nene Layson for donating the raffle prize, and to the sisters—both residents and alumnae—who worked tirelessly on the ground.
Joyful calls of “Sakay na, libre ‘to!” echoed throughout the day, capturing the generosity and energy that defined the event. Once again, the U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority showcased its commitment to uplifting the U.P. community.
Truly—it’s lavender, it’s iconic, and it’s free!
19 November 2025 Update: Congratulations to the winner of the Lululemon belt bag, awarded on November 19 by Dr. Verna Viajar, College Secretary of U.P. SOLAIR and a Sigma Beta alumna.
