The U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority renewed its commitment to student welfare through a donation to the EATSkolar Program of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA). The turnover was held on 21 November 2025 at the Office of the Chancellor in Quezon Hall, U.P. Diliman Campus.

EATSkolar, described by the OVCSA as a “community-powered, office-regulated subsidy program that provides meals for priority students,” remains a key initiative addressing food insecurity among scholars in need. Ongoing support from partners such as the U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority helps sustain the program’s operations and ensures that vulnerable students have consistent access to nutritious meals.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the University were Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Jose Carlo G. de Pano, who expressed appreciation for the Sorority’s continued involvement in student-focused initiatives. They emphasized the program’s positive impact on students balancing academic demands with financial challenges.

Representing the Sorority were alumnae Sis Mai Barua Yap, MIS Minju Viajar, Faculty Adviser Sis Binky De Leon Ulanday, and Sis Tess Payongayong. Their presence highlighted the Sorority’s dedication not only to service but also to sustained engagement with the University community.

The U.P. Sigma Beta Sorority extends its gratitude to the elder sisters who spearheaded this engagement; to the alumnae—both in the Philippines and abroad—who continue to support meaningful initiatives for our Iskolars ng Bayan; and to family and friends who generously back the Sorority’s projects.

Through efforts like these, the Sorority reaffirms its commitment to uplifting the U.P. community, ensuring that scholars can focus on learning while receiving the support they need.
